Modular Fixturing?
- The most significant cost factor in welding
is fit-up. 85% of the welding process is spent arranging and
aligning the weldment. Precise and flexible fixtures can dramatically
improve production.
- Modular fixturing is ideal for small run
production of 2-2000 pieces, job shops (whose work changes from
job to job), and prototype work.
- Modular fixtures eliminate the time and
money spent designing, building, and storing dedicated fixtures.
- Dedicated fixtures are rigidly designed
and often poorly tooled. Modular fixtures are flexible and versatile.
Förster tooling offers a comprehensive solution for workholding
and precise positioning in a welding fixture.
Förster vs Competition
- Förster's unique welding tables incorporate
removable ribs with t-slots. Both of which provide
distinct advantages that are not available with any competing
product!
- Removable ribs:
1.) Allow the table to be easily expanded with the optional support
foot.
2.) Can be removed to allow a weldment to extend down through
a section of the table.
3.) Repairing damage to the table surface is as easy - and inexpensive
- as replacing an individual rib! All competing products are
made with one solid piece of cast that would need to be reground
or machined.
- T-Slots:
A perfect design that allows each
modular tool and stop to achieve precise positioning across the
entire table surface.
